Community Service
We are a service organisation setup to support good causes both locally and internationally. Globally we have more volunteers in more places than any other service club organisation, and love to help others and make things happen.
Supporting the local community
We support a variety of charities and good causes, we predominantly donate to those within the local area to serve our local community. Charities we have supported recently include Ringside Charity Trust, Parkinson's Disease UK (Bromley), Macmillan Cancer Support, iCARE, Kent Surrey Air Ambulance Appeal, St Christopher's Hospice, Bromley Brighter Beginnings, Freddie Farmer Foundation, Bromley and Croydon Women's Aid, Living On, Soil Association, JusB, Petts Wood Playgroup, Chartwell Cancer Trust, and the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation
Message in a bottle
Lions Clubs Message in a Bottle is a simple but effective way for people to keep their basic personal and medical details where they can be found in an emergency on a standard form and in a common location – the fridge.
Message in a Bottle (known within Lions as MIAB) helps emergency services personnel to save valuable time in identifying an individual very quickly and knowing if they have any allergies or take special medication.
Paramedics, police, fire-fighters and social services support this Lions life-saving initiative and know to look in the fridge when they see the Message in a Bottle stickers, supplied. The initiative provides peace of mind that prompt and appropriate medical assistance can be provided, and next of kin / emergency contacts can be notified.

Recycle for sight
Throughout the year, Lions collect used spectacles and deliver them to regional Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centres. They clean, sort by prescription strength and package the glasses. Most of the recycled glasses are distributed to people in need in developing countries where they will have the greatest impact.
